Understanding the application of ICT in the classroom and seeing the practical implementation of ICT in learning and teaching is most important for teachers. Throughout this section we will provide a range of different good practice examples which can help teachers in progressing the use and integration of ICT in learning and teaching. Many of the ideas and examples will be drawn from and built upon the experiences in Irish classrooms and other countries.

Case Studies

Getting a picture of how a school proceeds with planning for e-learning as a “whole school” can be difficult given the diverse needs of every school but there are common lessons to be learned and ideas to be shared. This section of the website will gather case studies from schools at different levels of e-learning good practice which will help other schools in developing their e-learning plans and strategies. Internet Safety

The Internet has become the most popular research and communication tool at home and in school.  Most young people use its wonderful opportunities wisely but there can be privacy and safety risks to children with its use.  Webwise, the PDST Technology in Education’s Internet Safety initiative, provides advice and support to schools and parents to help protect children online and to encourage them to use the Internet and mobile devices positively, safely and effectively.
