Introduction
Having focused on ICT planning in the previous section, it is now appropriate to provide some real-life scenarios on how different types of schools set about preparing their ICT plans and spending their funds. Five case studies are presented here, all of which are based on data gathered from school ICT returns, and it is intended that these case studies will provide schools with clear ideas as to how they can target their ICT funding to maximum effect. Although much depends on how advanced a school is in terms of ICT integration, the framework for each school ICT plan should be similar and, whether large or small, the plan should seek to address some of the key issues raised in the planning matrix.
The five school types discussed in the case studies are as follows:
- Small Primary School
- Large Primary School
- Special School
- Small Post Primary School
- Large Post Primary School
