ICT Co-ordinating Teacher
It is important that the role of the ICT co-ordinating teacher is clearly defined in a school's ICT plan, particularly in the context of the ongoing implementation of the plan. When defining the role, the following duties should be considered:
- Co-ordinating the compilation and production of the ICT plan
- Identifying training needs and facilitating staff training
- Developing strategies for integration of ICT across the curriculum
- Liaising with senior management and advising on ICT strategies
- Evaluating the use of ICT in the school and encouraging greater use by teachers and students
- Developing a means by which the ICT infrastructure can be maintained and upgraded
