| Target Audience | This course focuses on the use of ICT to support students with moderate, severe/profound and multiple learning disabilities at both primary and post-primary level and is intended primarily for teachers of these students working in special schools or special classes. |
Contents | The course is intended to provide teachers with information on ICT use, the confidence to introduce it into their own classes and specific strategies, tools and resources to use in the integration of ICT into the curriculum. Course objectives: - explore ways in which ICT can be used to support individual students' needs
- provide exposure to on-line resources/software which the teacher can use to address students' needs
- learn about the use of these resources and strategies to assist with their integration into the curriculum
- learn about different uses of ICT, such as the use of ICT to develop attending/responding skills and to create individualised teaching and learning materials
- focus on a topic of particular interest to the participant through a project in a supported environment
