Pre-requisites

Participants should have some experience of carrying out basic ICT tasks (opening, editing, saving, closing files).

Contents

The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to a range of different technologies which can be used to enhance teaching and learning at primary level. 

This 20 hour course encourages a hands-on approach to learning. Modules are practical, demonstrating uses of different types of technologies but also their links to the primary school curriculum. 

The course modules are as follows:

  • ICT as a Class Administrative Tool
  • Working with Data
  • Key Internet Skills
  • Literacy Resources
  • Gaeilge agus TFC
  • Maths Resources
  • Resources for e-Learning Planning
  • Multimedia 1 & 2
  • Classroom Publishing
  • Web Publishing

This course is particularly suited as a whole school training course. Participants, working individually or in groups, will use the various tools demonstrated to build a curriculum resource that can be shared with other teachers on the course and used in the classroom.
