FÍS Film Festival 2007

The FÍS Film Festival celebrates the achievements of the primary school children involved in the FÍS project. Over 800 children and their teachers from schools across the country are attending this exciting event. The FÍS National Film Festival gives the children and schools involved an opportunity to showcase their films. Nominees for this year’s festival were selected during regional screening events organised by the local Education Centres. Many of these took place in public cinemas.

The “2007 Aileen MacKeogh Award” -- This will be presented to the school which shows outstanding achievement in many different areas of film making and in their ability to use the technology in their learning environment in a meaningful and exciting way. A judging panel comprising of educational and film experts have adjudicated the 25 nominated films.
FÍS is a film project for primary schools which was initiated by the Department of Education and Science. The National Centre for Technology in Education (NCTE), in collaboration with Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), is rolling out the FÍS project to schools throughout the country.
