Edublog Awards 2010 - 2 Irish winners

The 2010 Edublog Awards were presented on Wednesday December 15th.
This is the 7th year of the awards which were established to promote and demonstrate the educational values of social media.
It was started in 2004 in response to community concerns relating to how schools, districts and educational institutions were blocking access of learner and teacher blog sites for educational purposes. It creates a fabulous resource for educators to use for ideas on how social media is used in different contexts, with a range of different learners.
This year's awards include 2 Irish winners:
- SCC English were runners-up in the Best Educational Use of Audio for SCC English Audio Boos – Patterns of Poetry and Daynov (http://www.sccenglish.ie/search/label/Patterns of Poetry/)
- Gifted Kids were runners up in the Best Educational Use of a Virtual World for Daynuv.com & Giftedkids.ie MissionV Project (http://www.daynuv.com/)
