NCTE summer courses for primary teachers began today, July 1st, in various venues around the country.

This summer approximately 2,500 teachers are participating in almost 200 face to face ICT courses countrywide, 90% of which are NCTE designed courses.  The majority of these courses are either "Creating and Using ICT Resources for Literacy" or "Using the Interactive Whiteboard to Support Literacy". The bulk of these take place in schools, and at least half of these are whole school training. NCTE have also run over 10 webinars (online seminars) for more than 100 tutors in preparation for courses.  Other courses cover a range of technologies and applications including film in schools and digital photography.

The popular online course 'Developing e-Learning in your School (Primary)', which has been booked out for months, also began today.

All NCTE courses are fully funded by NCTE and so are free to participating teachers.
