LASCO Maths Challenge 2012
Annual Inter-schools charity maths competition with a prize fund of £4000, open to all Primary and Secondary Schools in Ireland. All the event information including: how to register; teacher feedback; sample questions etc. can be found via the link below. Register your school and use maths to make a difference!
Science Week 2011 Competitions
Science Week runs from Sunday 13th - Sunday 20th November. The theme is ‘The Chemistry of Life’, demonstrating the importance of chemistry to our everyday lives—from the atoms that are the building blocks of nature to the chemistry that creates lasting bonds between people. There are a number of competitions aimed at both primary and post primary students.
Texaco Children's Art
Now in its 58th year. Seven different categories, including one for special needs students. Cash prizes. Closes 24 Febuary 2012.
Child Trafficking Art Competition
Organised by the Department of Justice and Equality. Students design a cover for a guide on child trafficking. Closes 11 November.
The Future Creators
The Digital Hub in association with NCAD brings you the Future Creators where you can learn to develop 21st century digital skills in a fun & creative environment. You’ll learn how to create Apps for mobile phones, how to develop your own games & to engage with social networking sites – Facebook, My Space, Bebo, Second Life, Twitter. Becoming a part of the Future Creators will not only develop options for future study & career paths, it will give you an opportunity to take part in collaborative, hands-on activities and it will be a lot of fun!
F1 in Schools
Dundalk Grammar School scooped two international trophies at this year's F1 in Schools World Championships held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. And registration for the 2011-12 season is now open.
Irish student wins EU Young Scientist award
Castleknock student Alexander Amini has been awarded the top prize at the EU Young Scientists competition in Helsinki. Having tied for first place with students from Switzerland and Lithuania, Amini received a cheque for €7,000 and all-expenses-paid trip to the London International Youth Science Forum.
Photo competition - Win an iPod Touch
Ingenious Ireland want to encourage people to see mathematics everywhere around them -- so they're offering great prizes for a photo competition associated with their new Dublin by Numbers activity trails for families and schools.
