Fota Learning Zone

An interactive multidisciplinary resource for Fota House, Arboretum & Gardens in Cork. It is designed for teachers of 15-18 year old students and is curriculum-linked. Fota Learning Zone encourages students to interact with heritage in a way that is real, rich and relevant. It contains a wealth of primary and secondary resources and provides inspiration for pre and post-visit activities and projects.

CLIC website

Computer Learning in Communities (CLIC) have been working on a news website for primary schools www.clicnews.ie since March of this year.  The news stories have been written specially for primary children by DIT journalism students with extra stories being contributed by a group of transition year students.

DOTS - online ICT in languages

There is a new Moodle course in using ICT in the language classroom created by ECML (European Centre for Modern Languages) which contains information on the use of You Tube, wikis, forums, Audacity, SurveyMonkey, Moodle, audioconferencing, podcasts, quizzes, and blogs, in the context of the language classroom.

FÍS Film Festival

We are delighted to have received so many films for FÍS this year which will be held on the 16th November 2011 in the Helix in Dublin. The judges are looking at the films and will soon be announcing what schools will be coming along on the 16th to the FÍS Film Festival 2011. Now is the time to also start thinking about producing a film. Check out www.fisfestival.com for resources and ideas. Also, contact your education centre and see if there is a course you can attend.
