School Networking

Networking is the key element in schools which will facilitate broadband being distributed throughout the school.

Funding
In June 2004, the Department for Education and Science initially wrote to schools inviting them to apply for funding towards school networking. In November 2004 , the Department announced the launch of additional funding to support school networking. In December 2004, all schools who applied for funding were notified and guidelines on how to spend this funding were included, these guidelines are included below.

Directory of Cabling and Networking Suppliers

To further support school networking the NCTE have enabled local suppliers, who are interested and capable of fulfilling the networking requirements of schools, to submit their company details for inclusion in a directory. This directory can be searched on this website by schools interested in finding a local supplier.
