To expand a knowledge of climate and it’s impact on the life of a teenager, through co-operation between students living on the opposite side of the world to one another.
nPhase 1 share outcomes of a common task of weather measurement
nPhase 2 to create a pen-picture of climate as a result of collaborative exchanges
nPhase 3 upload the information to be available for others

The measurements are to be carried out for five days, beginning on November 8th.  They will be taken at 1 pm each day.
The phase will be completed by November 22nd.
a)Measurement of
ØTemperature – max/min thermometer
ØRain/snow fall – rain gauge
ØWind – Beaufort scale
ØCloud cover – a common descriptive scale
ØSunshine – a common descriptive scale
b)Collect the synoptic weather charts for the same period
c)Describe the weather over a period of a year within the country – photos may be included
d)Use group e-mail to circulate the data, with each school including it’s top 2-4 descriptions

This phase will run for the months of March and April.  It will be completed by the end of April.  This collaborative task will involve a twinning between Asian and European schools.  Students in Asian schools must write about the climate and it’s impact on European students.  The information required will be the result of communication between students.  The European school must also do the same
Only those schools who have completed phase 1 may proceed with phase 2.
The areas that information is required to be collected for have been agreed by the group. Students can determine what questions they need to ask to obtain that information

  • it is hoped to use a disussion forum or similar, to exchange the information.
Ø
  • it is hoped to use the Interwise platform to facilitate real-time exchanges
The descriptive passages, as written by the students and checked by the students whose climate they are writing about,  will be uploaded to a website, to be shared with others.
