NCTE Support Groups
Overview
Short courses and support groups provide an opportunity for teachers, living in the same locality to meet and gain hands-on, practical experience with aspects of ICT they wish to explore in greater detail.
In addition to the NCTE’s standard list of short courses, short courses and support groups on other topics can be approved to run directly by the education centre on behalf of NCTE, as long as they do not exceed 2.5 hours in duration. A minimum of 10 teachers is required for all NCTE-funded courses. They can also be offered on a whole school basis.
Course Description
The content of the short course or support group can be determined by the requirements of the participants.
Some examples:

- Facilitate ICT planning.
- Develop awareness and use of internet safety resources on Webwise.
- Explore the use of digital media within the classroom.
