Course Objectives

Enable participants to:

  • Find curriculum relevant resources on Scoilnet using the Resource Finder
  • Explore other resources on Scoilnet, including Theme Pages
  • Explore the main features of Encyclopaedia Britannica
  • Discuss and plan the integration of the above resources into their own classrooms
  • A hands on, practical course, participants will have the opportunity to explore these online resources and find out how they can be used to enhance teaching and learning.

Introduction to Scoilnet’s main features, including:

  • Resource Finder
  • Theme Pages
  • Quizzes
  • Crosswords
  • Storytime
  • Examples of how to use these in the classroom
  • Introduction to Encyclopaedia Britannica
  • Finding curriculum relevant information
  • Using features such as Timelines and Compare Countries
  • Examples of how to use these resources in the classroom
