Navan Education Centre has been appointed a recognised Clicker Centre by Crick Software.
The latest versions of the Clicker family of software are available for inspection at Navan Education Centre or demonstration by the ICT Advisor.

 
 

Clicker 4
Clicker 4 is an on-screen keyboard with speech. Each key (or cell) can hold a letter, word, phrase or picture.
When you click on a cell in a Clicker grid, the text and graphic in the cell is sent into the built-in word processor - Clicker Writer.
Cells can also speak text using the built-in software speech, and you can record your own voice directly into a cell!

ClozePro

Whether you're working with Primary, Secondary or pupils with special needs, ClozePro can enhance and reinforce your teaching and learning. It provides a range of exciting and stimulating activities for learners of all ages and abilities and across all subject areas.

Activities are incredibly easy to set up- just copy and paste the text into ClozePro and then take out every seventh word, or specify the number of words to remove- it only takes a few clicks. Or you can be more selective and highlight the exact text you wish to remove. This could be words, phrases, or groups of letters. Use text from your current topic work, or simply copy text from a web page!

 
 

WordBar

WordBar is a writing support tool for older students, a kind of toolbar which sits along the bottom of your screen and attaches itself to whatever word processor you are using. It consists of a variable number of grids. Every grid contains a number of cells, each of which holds a word or phrase which can be sent to the word processor by clicking on it.

Are you looking for ways to support writing with older pupils? If so, Wordbar is what you need. In short, wordbar is an extremely powerful, yet easy-to-use talking wordbank with ‘street credibility’.
 
 

Find out & Write About

A Find out & Write About CD consists of an interactive talking book of non-fiction text. Each page of the book contains a link to a Clicker writing grid that relates directly to that page, enabling the child to write about the information he or she has just learned. At least two levels of material are included on each CD, to allow for differentiation.

  
 

Planet Wobble

Award-winning Planet Wobble is an exciting and innovative new graded reading series for early readers and writers on CD and on paper. These animated talking books and related on-screen activities are firmly rooted in current educational literacy strategies and provide an additional classroom resource for early reading and writing skills.

BETT Awards

BETT is the definitive exhibition for technology in education, held each January at Olympia in London. The BETT Awards are made in conjunction with Educational Computing and Technology magazine.

Clicker has won 5 awards at BETT: Clicker: Gold Award for Special Needs software, 1995 Clicker Plus: Gold Award for Special Needs software, 1996 Clicker 2: Gold Award for Special Needs software, 1997 Clicker 3: Special Educational Needs Award, 1999 Clicker 3: Special Educational Needs Award, 2000. Find Out & Write About has won the BETT 2002 Special Needs Software Award. Planet Wobble, won the BETT primary special needs award 2003.
