Adding Multimedia to your Web Pages

Adding Multimedia to your web pages can be a daunting but very rewarding task for the beginner web designer. The difficulty rating of the projects which follow vary considerably depending on which web authoring application you are using to create your page. No doubt future web design tools will make these tasks routine, but for the moment the only guarantee of getting it right no matter which web authoring application you use is to "get your hands dirty" using HTML code.

The following projects discuss and demonstrate how to add various multimedia elements to your web page. Start by trying one multimedia project that appeals to you and try to integrate it into a blank web page. Once you get it working there, you can easily transfer it to one of your school web pages.

Tip: A quick and alternate way of copying and pasting HTML code from a web page is to simply download the page onto your PC and rename it. Then use the renamed version and build your page around it. This is of course providing you have copyright permission to use that page.

Warning: Always make a copy of your web page BEFORE you start making the substantial changes. It will then be easy to start over if things go wrong.
