Content Evolution Table

The following table suggests some content development ideas appropriate to your web publishing experience.

Beginner(Web Designer)

Experienced(Web Designer)

Professional (Web Designer)

Suggested content sections:

1 or 2
or a combination of both

Elements from:1, 2, 6, 8, 10, 11

Any

Format:

One Page only

5 page web site with menu headings:

Welcome (for content areas 1 and 2)

Our School (for content area 6)

Our Work (for content area 8)

What’s New (for content area 10)

Contact Us (for content area 11)

Any

Tip: Although the above table is merely a suggestion, you will notice that the format for Beginner is planned so that other sections can be added without changing the structure of the whole site. Simply design and write a new page say, for example "School Plan" and put a link onto the "Our School" or "Our Work" page, without having to change the five-item menu carried on each of your web site pages.

Warning: Failure to plan your structure at this early stage can result in having to redesign each page on your site! This is because each page will have links (perhaps a menu) to existing pages. An additional page will probably necessitate updating those menus.
