Some "Do’s and Don’ts":

Do embolden your headings. Visitors start by scanning a web page and will read the bold headings first. Try to think of how you might enliven such headings.

Don’t become over-familiar with your readers or patronise.

Do get someone else to review your page and give you an honest reaction.

Don’t underline words. Readers may think they are links and try to click on them.

Do have a TITLE for each page that appears in the title-bar

Don’t use "Frames" if you anticipate your readers might want to print out your page(s).

Do use a dictionary to double-check spellings if in doubt.

Don’t waffle – be brief.

Warning: Over-use of clichés can leave a sour taste in the mouth.

Tip: Throw in some interesting facts or surprises to vary the tone for your readers.
