Using Microsoft Front Page Express

Using Microsoft Front Page Express - Working with Graphics

It is a good idea, where possible, to have your images saved in the Web site folder before inserting them into your document.

Inserting an image

Place the cursor where you want the image to appear in your document. Click the Image button on the Standard Toolbar.

The Image box opens.

Click Browse… to select an image file from your Web site folder.

Click Open to insert the image.

File Conversion

If you use an image format other than GIF or JPEG, Microsoft Front Page Express will convert the image file to a GIF and prompt you when saving the page.

Aligning Images

Select the image by clicking on it. Choose to left, centre or right align the image by clicking on the Alignment button on the Format Toolbar.

Resizing the image

Once inserted, the image can be resized it by selecting it and then dragging the handles that appear at each corner until the image is at the desired size.

Note: In general, resizing in an Image Editor before you import it gives better results.

Setting or Altering Image Properties

On the Menu bar select Edit then Image Properties

The Image Properties box opens. Select the General tab.

Alternative Text

Enter your text. Select the Appearance tab.

If you do not require a border around the image, set Border Thickness to 0.

Click OK to finish.
