The two toolbars contain buttons corresponding to the most frequently used commands. You can also access all of these commands from menus.

Composition Toolbar : Use these items to create, open, and save Web pages, publish (upload) files to a server; view your Web page in the browser; perform standard editing tasks; create links and targets; insert images, horizontal rules, and tables; check spelling.

Formatting Toolbar: Use these items to apply paragraph formatting; specify fonts, font sizes, and font styles; apply text colour, and control text alignment.

You can hide or display these toolbars by clicking the tab to the left of each toolbar. You can also hide or display these toolbars by choosing their respective menu items from the View menu.

Creating a New Page

From the File menu, choose New and then click Blank Page.

To edit an existing page saved locally or in a remote location, choose Open Local File.

Specifying the Title of the Page

On the Menu bar, select Format, then Page Colors and Properties. The Page Properties box opens.

Insert the page title in the Title text box. You can also enter the name of the person(s) who created the current page in the Author tex box, add a brief Description of your document contents, and type Keywords that you want search engines to use to help users locate your document on the Web.

Note: If you do not enter a title, Composer will prompt you for a title when you are saving your page.

Click Apply and then Close to finish.

Saving your Page for the first time.

It is a good idea to save your web page before you start. As you proceed, you can use the Save command on the Composition Toolbar. Any images you have inserted will be saved also.

On the File menu select Save As..

Enter the filename and click Save . If you have not specified a title for the page, you will be prompted to do so.

Previewing your pages

Launch your browser, or click the Preview button on the Composition Toolbar .

Open your saved page. As you create and save your document you can switch between the editor and the browser to see the revised version by clicking on the Refresh / Reload button on the browser.
