Microsoft Word 97 Toolbars

The two toolbars contain buttons corresponding to the most frequently used commands. You can also access all of these commands from the Menu Bar.

If these toolbars are not visible, select them from the Toolbars item on the View menu.

Creating a New Page

From the File menu, choose New. Click on the Web Pages tab and then select Blank Web Page. Click OK. (To edit an existing page choose Open and locate the file.)

Specifying the Title of the Page

On the Menu bar, select File then Properties.

The Document Properties box opens. Insert the page title in the Title text box.

Saving your Page for the first time.

It is a good idea to save your web page before you start. As you proceed you can use the Save command on the Standard Toolbar.

On the File menu select Save As..

Locate the required location, enter the filename and click the Save button.

Previewing your pages

Launch your browser, or click the Preview button on the Standard Toolbar .

Open your saved page. As you create and save your document you can switch between the editor and the browser to see the revised version by clicking on the Refresh / Reload button on the browser.
