Using Microsoft Word 97 - Using Colours

Setting the Background Colour

Click the Background colour button on the Formatting Toolbar.

Select a colour. The background changes colour and the box closes automatically.

Setting the Text Colour for the Page

From the Menu, select Format then Text Colors..

The Text Colors box opens.

To specify colours for Body text, Hyperlink text, and Followed hyperlink text, select the required colours from the dropdown menus.

Changing the Text Colour of a Selection

To change the text colour for a word or section of text, highlight the text whose colour you want to change. Click the Font Colour button on the Formatting Toolbar.

Select a colour. The highlighted text changes colour and the box closes automatically.
